I love going out to the beach and shooting. It’s probably my favorite place on Earth to be. Christina and Ryan were great, full of trust, really letting me do my thing. The pictures below are everything I try to do at a shoot–create images that are sexy, fun and intimate:
I want to be Liz and Andy when I grow up! I hope that does not come out the wrong way, I think they are only like two years older then me. But they are just so comfortable with themselves, it was rather soothing to be around them. No doubt they are probably the “coolest” parents around.
Kim and Simon made it look easy. They chose the amazing Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and probably paid extra for the amazing weather they were blessed with. Add to that a touching ceremony under a beautiful willow tree, fun party and of course a stunning couple!!! It’s tough work, but someone has to do it!
First off Michael is straight out of Brooklyn and we went to the same high school (at different times, I am old), so I immediately got a good sense of who he was. What I loved about Leah, when I walked into the room where she was getting ready, was that she was very much in charge but had this great calm about her. Or maybe it was when she threatened to “break my legs” if I got her dress dirty when Ray from Timeless Films and I took it for a wee walk. :0
Leah and Michael were married at the very cool and scenic Webb Institute and had one of my favorite receptions outside under a tent on a beautiful night.
Jen and Peter were married at one of my all time favorite venues, The Foundry in Long Island City. There is just something about the space that really gels with my sensibility. Add to that a totally warm, mushy, affectionate, expressive couple and I am golden. Now, I can’t lie, I got totally choked up during the ceremony. They exchanged their own vows which I think is such a nice touch. When I was married in 2001, my wife and I did the same, so it reminded me of our wedding.
They had an awesome cupcake cake made by the one and only Pink Cake Box, Dj Gaza had me shaking my a$$ and the food was really great by Spargo’s Grille. And last but certainly not least, I got to work with one of my favorite wedding videographers, Rob and Leyda from ROCKMELON.
I thought I would mix up the blog posts and share a slideshow that was created for them. Check it out and turn on the speakers:
