Happy New Year!!!

December 31st, 2007

Be safe, Stay warm and PLEASE have a drink or three for me.

It’s a quite evening at home with the fam and Super Bad.

So much to blog in the New Year…

New portrait site coming soon(ish).

A long overdue website image update.

And even some personal work…

And-

of course-

amazing weddings in 2008. I am almost completely booked up for 2008(some slots still available).

Ok, Jessie stopped me dead in my tracks when she showed up not wearing socks to her and Jonathan’s engagement shoot. Mind you it must have been below 30 for the shoot and she was the second bride in a row to do this. Jennifer did the same thing the week before.

The cold must have helped though because Jessie and Jonathan “brung it,” despite proclaiming to be nervous (which I ain’t buying) and we got AMAZING images. I am gonna let pictures speak for themselves. Really looking forward to shooting their wedding next year at Battery Gardens:

Go See JUNO

December 30th, 2007

This movie was really special. If you happened to be sitting next to my wife and I during the movie, let me take this time to apologize. I know we were both blubbering a bit, ok , alot. Juno was just that touching….

Stacy and Derek and a kick-ass dance-till-you-drop reception at the Van Allen Mansion. It’s no wonder since Stacy teaches dance and wanted the emphasis on having a good time. Prior to the reception they had a lovely intimate ceremony surrounded by their family and friends. (When I say “surrounded by,” I mean it. They were married in the round with the guests standing by–literally surrounding them.)

After the ceremony, we hit the streets of New York way past sunset for some amazing night portraits.

Enjoy:

Rob and Jennifer, BKLYN

December 19th, 2007

I met Jennifer and Rob on a very COLD day a couple of weeks ago. When we met,  Jennifer shared with me that SHE DOESN’T WEAR SOCKS EVER. Now, I don’t normally show up to a wedding bearing gifts, but guess what Jennifer is going to be getting from me on her wedding day?

Luckily, they were troopers and they kept warm by pretending to laugh at my corny jokes. True Brooklynites, they wanted to do the engagement pics in their borough and we made sure to get some on the bridge because that is where Rob proposed to Jennifer.

They are getting married at the stunning New York Botanical Gardens next year.

Sarah and Matt really march to the beat of their own drum. That’s why they’re so perfect for each other! Their wedding was infused with all things Sarah and Matt and as a result, it was such a special day in both its uniqueness and in the abundance of love that was everywhere.

They had this great mix of old world Jewish traditions (Tisch, Badeken), an AMAZING klezmer band led by Alicia Sviegals and just enough hip-hop and funk attitude to make the wedding very much a Sarah and Matt affair.

Once again I had the chance to work Christine and her team from Exquisite Affairs. For the first time, I also had to work the opportunity to work with (and had a great time doing so) the husband and wife videographer team of RockMelon.

Oh and don’t forget to check out the fun photo-booth that Sarah and I came up with down at the bottom of these images.

Get ‘em while they are hot:
