Archive for October, 2007

I met up with Stacy and Derek in Soho and we took it from there. By the end of the shoot, we ended up by the water near the West Side Drive. That’s what’s so great about NYC, so many great places to shoot. What I loved about working with them is that I could tell they were a bit nervous when we started and we eased into it…by the end they were pros!

See for yourself:

DJ Small Change….

October 22nd, 2007

I have worked with DJ Small Change a couple of times at wedding events over the past month. I think he has the right mix of very cool music and laid back attitude. He also has that straight out of Williamsburg look.

His website:

Allison and Gary were married at the perfectly located Waters Edge in Long Island City. We had a lot of fun shooting around Gentry State Park before heading off to the reception.

A super sweet couple who happen to be wildly in love, I was really happy to document their day and witness a”first”. Allison and her brother rocked it out to the song “Brothers and Sisters” from “Free to be You and Me”. Nice!!!

Lastly, I wanted to mention how great a job I thought her planner Soraya did. Calm and in control the whole day.

Good Morning America

October 18th, 2007

I just found out several of my images were showcased on the show this morning. This is the third time in a year that my images have made TV. First two were on the CBS morning show and now here. Yipee for me.

They were engagement images of Sarah and Matt.

I am hoping to get the show on the blog somehow. Stay tuned…

Funky, Urban Bridal Shoot…

October 17th, 2007

I have gotten a bunch of emails about when I am going to be posting images. I wanted to let everyone know that due to my crazy busy summer I might not be able to get to this before the weather turns cold. I have picked someone and can’t wait to shoot. I am going to try before the winter, but just in case..stay tuned in the spring.

Yanet and Jandy, DUMBO

October 17th, 2007

Yanet and Jandy were spending the week here in New York.  So I was was flattered when they contacted me to shoot their very special “New York” engagement pics before they wed down in Florida in February.

Elijah turns three….

October 16th, 2007

My son turned three the other week and I am just amazed how quickly these three years have gone. I could go on and on about how special I think my little guy is, but I have a tendancy to get way mushy about these things. Suffice it to say, he is just the silliest, sweetest, smartest, most loving, totally cuddle-able, darn cute (if I do say so myself) little guy I know.

A big thank you to Henry for coming out and shooting  some. I know he posted some on his blog. Some from me:

Lauren and Dan, NYC

October 15th, 2007

Lauren, Dan and I got along so well during their engagement shoot that when the time came for their wedding day it was like showing up to photograph good friends.

Lauren and Dan were married at the uber-hip Angel Oresanz on the lower east-side of Manhattan. Lucky for everyone that Tina, Sarah and Amy from the ever popular and super talented Oh So Fab were planning the day. On a side note, I get to shoot Sarah’s wedding in two weeks in the great (small) state of Rhode Island.

Check out the pics below:

Summer…

October 15th, 2007

I am thinking it’s over…It’s cold out there.sad.jpg

Breanne and Michael, DUMBO

October 12th, 2007

Most people from NY who are having a destination wedding head out to places like the Cayman Islands. Breanne and Michael might be a bit confused….. They live on Grand Cayman but are getting married here in Manhattan :). I tried to subtly suggest that I come to them for their wedding, but no go.

Of course getting married in Manhattan at the end of December is ripe with potential and I am very much looking forward to it!

I finally got to shoot in DUMBO. I have a studio there for my portrait work but up until now, have not done an engagement shoot down there…
